So My Fiance Cheated

He really thought humiliating me at work was funny.

That’s the part that stayed with me afterward. Not even the cheating.

Just the way he sat there grinning while his new girlfriend kept calling me “sweetie” every time she asked for something.

Extra napkins.
More ice.
Another spoon because she “dropped” hers right beside my shoes.

I was trying so hard not to lose my job that I just kept swallowing it.

At one point I went behind the counter because I could literally feel myself starting to cry. My manager, Luis, came back there while I was wiping mascara off with cocktail napkins.

He didn’t do the fake sympathy thing. Just looked over my shoulder at their table and said, “That guy your ex?”

I nodded.

Luis watched them another second and went, “Okay. I got an idea.”

I thought he meant kick them out.

Nope.

Their food came up a few minutes later. Huge order too. Burgers, fries, appetizers, drinks. Luis grabbed the tray before I could.

Then he walked straight to their table, smiling like normal.

And very loudly said, “Sir, before I serve this, I just need you to confirm something for the security report.”

My ex looked confused. “What?”

Luis held up his phone.

“The woman you’re here with isn’t the same woman who came in screaming outside last night, right? Because your fiancée already called asking if you were cheating again.”

Silence.

Actual dead silence.

The girl’s face changed instantly. “Fiancée?”

I remember my ex turning white so fast it honestly scared me a little.

Then she stood up so hard her chair hit the floor behind her and yelled, “AGAIN?” loud enough the entire bar turned around.

Turns out I wasn’t the only woman he’d been lying to.
