Brown Sugar Pork Chops Slow Cooker Recipe

Sweet, savory and caramelized, these brown sugar pork chops are the kind of dinner that disappears fast. The slow cooker does all the work and the sauce turns thick and sticky.

Serve them with green beans, creamy mashed potatoes or a simple rice and you have a cozy family dinner with almost no effort.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, to thicken)

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
  2. Mix brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon, garlic and chicken broth in a bowl.
  3. Add the chops to the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them. Top each with a little butter.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours or HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until tender.
  5. Move the chops to a plate. Pour the sauce into a small pan, stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer 2 minutes until glossy.
  6. Pour the sauce over the chops and serve warm.

Tips

For deeper caramel flavor, sear the chops for 2 minutes per side first.

Dark brown sugar gives a richer taste than light.

Store leftovers in the sauce so the pork stays moist.
