The officer came back with another cop and made her take the camera down while they sorted it out. My neighbor stood in her driveway screaming that I was “obsessed” with her and trying to ruin her life over a security system.
Honestly I thought that was the end of it.
Then two nights later my backyard motion light flipped on around 1:30 in the morning.
I figured raccoon or stray cat until I noticed somebody standing near the fence between our houses.
Not moving.
Just standing there looking toward my bedroom.
I called police again but the person walked off before they arrived. My neighbor claimed she’d been asleep the whole time. Officers couldn’t really do much because my Ring camera only caught part of a hoodie and somebody leaving through the side yard.
After that, weird little things started happening.
Packages opened before I got home from work. My trash cans moved. Once my bedroom blinds were tilted upward even though I always keep them shut tight now.
The part that bothered me most was she suddenly stopped arguing with me completely.
No more yelling across the yard. No Facebook posts about “crazy neighbors.” Nothing.
She’d just stare for a second and go back inside.
Last Friday a detective called asking if I could come downtown to clarify part of my complaint paperwork. He kept asking whether I’d ever been inside my neighbor’s house before.
I said no.
Then he asked if I recognized another address connected to her.
I didn’t.
Apparently police served a warrant after finding hidden cameras connected to an online account under her name.
Not just aimed outside.
Bedrooms. Bathrooms. Guest rooms.
Multiple houses.
The detective slid a printed screenshot across the table and asked if I recognized the room in the picture.
It was my bedroom.
But not from my window.
The photo was taken from inside the room near my closet door.
